GMRES methods for tomographic reconstruction with an unmatched back projector

چکیده
Unmatched pairs of forward and back projectors are common in X-ray CT computations for large-scale problems; they caused by the need fast algorithms that best utilize computer hardware, it is an interesting challenging task to develop easy-to-use these cases. Our approach use preconditioned GMRES, form AB- BA-GMRES algorithms, handle unmatched normal equations associated with pair. These simple implement, rely only on available projectors, do not require tuning any algorithm parameters. We show equivalent well-known LSQR LSMR case a matched projector. numerical experiments demonstrate exhibit desired semi-convergence behavior comparable LSQR/LSMR standard stopping rules work well. Hence, suited reconstruction problems noisy data projector pairs.

Nonlinear Back Projection for Tomographic Image Reconstruction
The objective of this paper is to investigate a new non-iterative paradigm for image reconstruction based on the use of nonlinear back projection filters. This method, which we call nonlinear back projection (NBP), attempts to directly model the optimal inverse operator through off-line training. Potential advantages of the NBP method include the ability to better account for effects of limited...
متن کاملTomographic Reconstruction Methods for Decomposing Directional Components
Decomposition of tomographic reconstructions has many different practical application. We propose two new reconstruction methods that combines the task of tomographic reconstruction with object decomposition. We demonstrate these reconstruction methods in the context of decomposing directional objects into various directional components. Furthermore we propose a method for estimating the main d...
متن کاملParallelisation of Tomographic Reconstruction Methods
In medicine, there is a still growing interest in non-invasive examination techniques which can depict anatomical structures. Amongst these methods are Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computerised Tomography (CT). These are all based on the same principle: under a number of angles, a set of line integrals in a plane is measured resulting in a set of proo...
متن کاملTomographic reconstruction using heuristic Monte Carlo methods
A tomographic reconstruction method based on Monte Carlo random searching guided by the information contained in the projections of radiographed objects is presented. In order to solve the optimization problem, a multiscale algorithm is proposed to reduce computation. The reconstruction is performed in a coarse-tofine multigrid scale that initializes each resolution level with the reconstructio...
متن کاملTomographic Reconstruction Methods for Optical and Intra-operative Functional Imaging
Tomographic imaging has revolutionized the medical domain over the last 50 years. Imaging modalities like CT, PET or SPECT have enabled non–invasive diagnosis, patient–specific modeling as well as more accurate treatment, and are increasingly establishing themselves also for interventional use. The theoretical basis for tomographic imaging has been developing over the last century as well, with...
